This blog is getting dusty! =\
Anyway, some quick updates, one of which requires your feedback
1. There will be no small group meeting this coming Saturday, 14 Nov 09 as I will be going for a Treetop Walk activity with fellow teachers
Sorry about this.
2. We will meet instead on 21 Nov 09, the following Saturday.
Would you be keen on playing badminton?

Hello Young Ladies!
It’s been almost a year since we started meeting (quite) regularly. Both of us would really like to spend some time with you to hear you share how you feel about this group. Please come ready to share honestly. Let us know how the small group has benefited you, what you have enjoyed about the group, and what can be done better next year. Please also pray about your level of commitment to the small group next year.
We intend to run a short retreat and the details are as follows:
Date: 25-26 September 2009
Time: 6.30pm (25 Sept) – 12nn (26 Sept)
Venue: Home of Mr & Mrs Michael Van
We shall meet for dinner, followed by some evening activities. On Saturday morning, we shall be learning to cook Macaroni and Cheese together and have it for lunch (: We have gotten some of the ingredients but here is a list of ingredients we still need, of which you might want to contribute
:
- 1 packet of Maicar brand macaroni (400g)
- 1 packet of Perfect Italiano Mozarella cheese (250g)
- 1 carton of HL fresh milk
Please remember to bring your basic toiletries, clothes, sleeping bags and of course, your apron (:
Please respond to this thread to indicate (1) if you’re coming, and (2) an item that you’d like to contribute for baking.
For those who aren’t able to stayover, please be here at 9am so we may start that day’s activities (eg. baking) earlier. Thank you, young ladies…we look forward to having you this Friday!
Standing on His promises,
Gwyneth and Shelia

Hi all,
There will be no small group meeting this Saturday, as many of the young ladies will be ministering to the children during the CF/JF camp!
Thank God for this opportunity that we can be all involved in this camp.
For those who wish to help out, you may approach Sheila Khoo to see how you can be part of this camp!
In His redeeming love,
Gwyneth and Shelia

Thank God for bringing Jasmine, Sheila, Shelia, Yvonne and myself together at my that Saturday morning, to watch a video entitled, “Faith like Potatoes”. This movie is based on the true story of Angus Buchan, a farmer who moves his family to South Africa and goes through a series of seemingly insurmountable losses. Through friendships Angus least expected, and of course, God’s divine intervention, he discovers life’s true purposes and this discovery sustains his unwavering belief in the power of faith.

standing on His promises,
gwyneth

Looks like the young ladies have been very busy lately and thus the drop in attendance the past 2 meetings…but thank God for bringing most of us back at Young Ladies’ Small Group meeting today! We had a meaningful time studying the Word of God together over tea (using Auntie Pauline’s new pretty teapot =b), giving out / receiving gifts, sharing and praying

pretty aprons and gifts
Today’s study was a lesson / reminder to us who may sometimes feel inadequate when praying, or asked to pray. It was humbling and enlightening to learn that because God wants us to know Him and have fellowship with Him, He doesn’t leave it up to us to find out how to reach Him through prayer. God provides us His Holy Spirit to help us…and so when we feel that we don’t know how to pray / what to say, we can be assured that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us – He gives us the words to say when we don’t know what to say! God isn’t expecting flowery words from us; Je just wants us to bring to Him a deep longing to abide in Him by faith. How wonderful to know that we are in a relationship with a God Who gives us all we need in order to live a life of prayer! Thank God also for teaching us that other than His Holy Spirit, God has also given us His Word to equip us in living a prayerful life. God closely intertwines our abiding in HIm, His Word and answered prayer because in order to know and do His will, we have to read His Word…if we do not read His Word, and know not Him and His will, how then will we pray according to His will? and if we pray not according to His will, how shall He answer a prayer not according to His will and character?
Thank God for His precious word that teaches us precious lessons to apply in our lives!
